Shipping Rules
Safety first. Some items cannot travel by mail at all, and some cannot travel by air — which matters here, because our island lanes fly. Check your item before you pack it.
These are non-mailable in the U.S. mail, by any route.
Air bags
Compressed gas / explosive initiator.
Ammunition
Prohibited in all mail.
Explosives & fireworks
Prohibited in all mail.
Gasoline & flammable fuels
Prohibited in all mail.
Liquid mercury
Prohibited by itself or inside devices (antique thermometers, barometers, switches).
Marijuana
Prohibited, medical or otherwise. Hemp/CBD is permitted but restricted.
Aerosols (spray cans)
Mailable only under USPS quantity and packaging rules.
Lithium batteries
Mailable only with the correct markings and limits — see air rules below.
Alcohol, perfumes, nail polish
Flammable liquids — restricted; air limits apply.
Firearms & knives
Restricted matter with strict handling rules.
Perishables & meltables
Time- and temperature-sensitive; see climate note below.
Our Marianas lanes (Saipan / Tinian / Rota ↔ our Oregon hub) move by air cargo. Anything restricted from air travel cannot ride those lanes — even if it would be fine by ground on the mainland.
Damaged, defective, or pre-owned devices containing or packaged with lithium batteries
GROUND TRANSPORTATION ONLY — prohibited in air transportation. Must be marked "Restricted Electronic Device" and "Surface Transportation Only."
Lithium metal batteries mailed without equipment
Must bear the "Surface Mail Only — Forbidden for Transportation Aboard Passenger Aircraft" marking.
Loose lithium cells / batteries
Domestic limits apply (small consumer primary cells under conditions); installed-in-equipment air limits are strict.
The Marianas are hot and humid, and our hub is in Oregon. Chocolate, cosmetics, candles, and other heat-sensitive goods can melt, spoil, or degrade in transit. If it cannot survive the trip, please ship it direct rather than through our warehouse.
This page is a plain-language summary, not a complete legal list. The authority is USPS Publication 52, Hazardous, Restricted, and Perishable Mail. When in doubt: don't ship it — ask us first. Shipping a prohibited item can get a parcel refused, destroyed, or fined, and it puts people at risk.
